TheValueChain helps Ablynx to start up CRM

AblynxInvestors and believers are looking forward to the possible launch of Ablynx’s first own medicine based on the nanobody technology in 2018. “At present, we are setting up a commercial organisation, which means that we will monitor our product flow, orders, supply chain and invoicing through an IT system”, says Henk de Jonghe, IT director of Ablynx. “TheValueChain helped us to start up a CRM system of SAP.”

Sixteen years after its foundation, the Belgian biotech company Ablynx is preparing to enter the market with the Caplacizumab medicine. “We originally were a pure research and development company, but now we are facing entirely new challenges”, according to Henk de Jonghe. “At first we will mainly have to inform patients and doctors about the rare blood disease that can be treated with Caplacizumab.”

IT-driven company

A sales organisation was also set up following the launch. “We are an IT-driven company. For example, we use IT and robotics to support our research activities. At present, we are setting up a commercial organisation, which means that we will monitor our product flow, orders, supply chain and invoicing through an IT system. This is a completely new aspect for us.”

“TheValueChain helped us to start up a CRM system of SAP, in which we can report about the visits to hospitals and doctors in a first phase. The second phase, which still has to be started, includes arrangements regarding prices, repayments, estimating turnovers in various countries etc. Because our company is still in full development, we have made configurations according to our needs. The future will show how we can further roll out this tool to fully follow up our business.”
